We have known each other almost our entire lives. Our fathers were good friends, we were childhood sweethearts, & had every class together in elementary school. We went to the same middle school and high school and lost touch for a few years. We began talking again online in July of 2005 and quickly realized we were brought together again for reasons we did not realize but quickly understood. We eloped on November 12, 2005 surrounded by a few close friends and have since been happily living together in Corona. We decided last year, we wanted to reaffirm our vows of marriage to one another in the presence of the person responsible for our happiness, God. We also wanted to have the presence of our families and friends as we begin our lifelong journey together.
Our Wedding will take place at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Placentia, which holds a very special place in our hearts. Vanessa received all of her sacramental rights here and her family are also members of this religious community. Her grandparents, Frank and Carrie served as music directors of the Spanish mass for many years before retiring and moving to Colorado. Ryan was also baptized here and recently completed the RCIA process to becoming a Catholic, as well. His childhood memories include coming to mass daily with his grandmother, Margaret. We have very special relationships with the staff and with Father Tim Raemakers, who will be convalidating our marriage. The mass will begin promptly at 2:30 p.m.
Our Reception will take place in the beautiful North lawn of the Fullerton Arboretum, surrounded by the wonderful fragrances of a new spring season accompanied by the color and magnificence of the flowers and trees. The Reception will begin at 5pm. A live Mariachi band will play through dinner, to celebrate the Mexican heritage of both Vanessa and Ryan, and the musical entertainment of a D.J. for dancing, immediately following. The menu will include dinner entrees of Lasagna and Fetticini Alfredo which will be cooked on location. This particular food theme was chosen to celebrate the Italian culture of Ryan's family. The parking will be free of charge and is conveniently located on the Cal State Fullerton Campus directly connected to the Arboretum.
We would like to take this oppurtunity to thank each and every one of our guests. We have arranged this entire wedding to be a celebration of our unity and the unity of our family and friends.
